YOU Are What You EAT!
Let's discuss what to eat to have continuous energy for the day with Najma Mohamed.
Najma is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist Practitioner. She decided to study nutrition in 2016 because she became very sick.
Having little energy, she would run home after work to sleep. After going on both western medicine and Chinese medicine, the doctors still could not give an adequate answer.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with having H. Pylori, a stomach bacteria. The treatment plan prescribed by her doctor left me worse off and she had to rebuild her health for 9 months after losing a considerable amount of weight.
“I am confident that feeding your body the right foods and supplements can lead to better health.”
Najma will be sharing insights on how to eat well with us based on her own experience and professional practice.
Little interview by Teranga Ubuntu Team:
TERANGA: What motivated you to volunteer your time and give a presentation with Teranga Valley?
Najma: Through my practice, I have had clients whose main concern is having energy to complete their work and lead a good life. I have also found that individuals have different health concerns and cannot consume the same food. It is important to know what helps your body and what to avoid.
TERANGA: Why did you choose to talk about this topic? Why it’s so important for you to share with our community?
Najma: Most people want to have a productive day without having to consume 2 cups of coffee. They also want to know how to make simple meals that are nutrient packed and address their health concern.
TERANGA: What is the last thing that made you laugh really hard?
Najma: I watched an old YouTube video of a comedian by the name of Doug Stanhope. He focuses on what makes us similar instead of different.
TERANGA: What inspires you?
Najma: I am inspired by reaching for and accomplishing my goals.
TERANGA: What does being a “Global Citizen” mean to you?
Najma: A global citizen can interact with people from different cultures and is able to listen and understand different world views.
Looking forward to see you all at the event on Wednesday, January 13th starting 19:30!
